Every year, my small town has a summer festival. Like many towns, we celebrate our region and things we are the most proud of that our area is known for.

I have, however, had several ideas on how to improve our summer festival. I have written to city councillors and made my suggestions to them.

One idea is to have a day dedicated to pets in our town. There are many dog owners in the area, so it would be wonderful to have activities to show off our furry friends. I suggest we have a dog show and/or an agility contest. We could lead into this event by having a big dog walk around our town’s main park.

A few weeks ago, our teacher in Arts gave our class Stained glass kits for our quarterly project. The kit had been quite expensive but then again, our teacher paid for 50% of the expenses. I salute her. She always does her best for her students. That is why I am doing my best in her class. I’m almost done and I’m satisfied of how my stained glass artwork is turning out. We’ll be turning in our projects in a week.

The week passed by in a blur of stained glass and tired hands but the effort I gave was well worth it. I knew I’d be getting a high grade but that isn’t what I’m after. My teacher was ecstatic when I handed in my work. I told her the truth – my stained glass project was dedicated to her, for being such an awesome teacher.
