My friend was coming up to the date of his wedding anniversary and I wanted to surprise him and let everyone know about his twenty years of wedded bliss. To accomplish this I paid for some banner printing from a local company. I had a large advertising banner printed and placed it on some railings at the edge of an extremely busy road. As a bit of fun I included his email address on the banner. He was inundated with emails from well wishers. To say he was not very pleased would be an understatement. He said it will probably take him the next twenty years to work through his email inbox. I said do not worry that will be just in time for the next banner to remember forty years of happy marriage we both laughed. This experience does go to show however that advertising banners can and do work.
